I will attend the next high table and deliver a mission report. So if not one else turns up to help, you'll get the random ramblings of a Demonist complaining about his arms being chopped off.
Phobos
I shall endeavour to be there also Phoebus to provide my point of view also.
Mordekai Draconis
So do I understand correctly? You were requested by an Amoriath Knight to undertake a mission, and not only have you not given any kind of report yet, but you are now saying he can wait until you can attend a gathering of the High Table before you will report anything??! You do understand that the Amoriath are not at our beck and call, and you should not expect a Knight to be able to drop their duties to attend a High Table.
Would it not be better to arrange to get a report to Sir Steven as soon as possible, and then attend the High Table as well?
Lynne Jacobs
Personally, I was under the illusion that High Table is where mission reports are made. However if waiting till then results in complaints...
We were hired by Sir Steven Belforet to protect a girl (Stephanie? Sally? Began with an S) while she went into the Valley of Forgotten Dreams to play with some Tech devices. Yes I know, more playing with tech after we were told playing with tech wasn’t the solution. However Sir Steven is pretty good at his job so we figured it was probably part of a cunning plan.
We went into the Valley, broke some defenses, killed some guards, and got to the tech device we were looking for. We were then attacked by minions of the Stigians: various Daka Shae and Tech Golems, we defeated them and held our position.
At this point Stephanie(?) got the tech device she was playing with working. The device spewed forth a web of energy into the sky, which spread to cover horizon to horizon. Steph was revealed to be, erm, hard to describe, but not human at any rate, humanoid perhaps and said something about ‘at last a chance for revenge’. I don’t think she likes Stigians, and I’m glad.
At this point Steph left, I’m not sure how, she just stopped being there. And Daka Shae in full power armour started to advance on us, so we ran away.
No one died.
Phobos
P.S. Report delivered to everybody. I will still turn up at high table to say much the same thing.
With the greatest of respect given,we did that mission of great importance and did it willingly.i understand that respect is a two way avenue,i am not suggesting in anyway that i am anything as glorious or important as the Amoriath council whom sent us.I humbly suggest that mortals too regularly save this world.Yes you have sacrificed and given blood for us.well so hath we,as rulers you would do well to remember that when chastising your subjects.
Mordekai Draconis
Err, Mordekai. Lynne isn't a member of the amoriath. Infact, its very rare for the amoriath to use the notice boards. She's not chastising her subjects, shes just telling you how she thinks things should be done. Irregardless of whether Sir Steven was reported too individually, I think its safe to say he is now aware of the missions success. Now lets stop whinging at each other and get on with things.

i have never encountered a dos malgar , i do not know what abilities they possess either maybe they still have their malimorh abilities as well as warp power to add extra kick. as for speculating on ways to deal with them ,is there a way to neutralise warpstone and can we kill whoever is controlling them.
rhys
Only one person has an opinion on what they would like doing with the malimorh that are trapped in there warp prison. Does no-one actually care, I suppose not really. They are not one of our kind, and anyway we are safe since they are trapped behind Thimbleks wall, well at least for the moment, or is it that you just don’t care. Maybe perhaps it is that we the free people are to scared to actually say anything, we would rather just do the easy thing and kill rather than speak up and air an opinion that may be wrong, or would you rather just follow instruction because it is easier, I suppose then if something does go wrong, it is not your fault. There is one other possibility, you don’t think you can fight them and are going to leave it to those stronger than yourself. All of these are selfish and make us no better than those we fight against, those that we consider an enemy to Evermore.
However do you care about the people trapped in Amatyr, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters, and even some people’s friends, what of them? At the minute they are being trained for an army, aimed at killing us. Do you want to kill those that are forced to fight, I know I do not. The only way to free those that will fight against us, is to fight those that control them, these being the Dos Malgar, I know not of what these beings are capable of, but I am sure in time we will find out. However one thing that we should all be aware of is that these beings are malimorh who have been forced back into this dream and into the foul armour that encase them. They have not chosen what has happened to them, and so I would like, if possible to free them to make there choice as to whether to walk this dream or remove themselves from it. If it was a human, dwarf or elf in the same situation we would endeavour to free them, so why should we not do the same for all races, no matter who they are.
Torishmiaka
Torishmiaka, you did not ask if we cared, you asked if we knew how to help. I care, of course I care, but as to what I can do to save them, what I can do to stop them hurting others...
I do not know. I felt no need to draw attention to this fact, as it doesn't help anyone. If you want the whole of the adventuring community to line up as say they're worried about fighting something please do just say so, but you asked for help, you asked for knowledge on how to beat them, how to save them. Is it so unsurprising that we have few ideas, given our lack of knowledge and their great power?
They're Malimorh, therefore immune to magic, resistant to all but the most powerful mystics. They possess great psychic powers, enough to control and manipulate all but the most resistant. They are clad in warp armour, a substance which can corrupt with but a touch.
I have no idea what to do about them, should I ever face one, I will protect whom I can, evacuate as many as possible, and hope to hell they don’t just psychically possess me to kill those who a love.
Right now they seem otherwise occupied, and Yes I’m glad for that.
I’m glad they are not free to kill as they choose or are commanded. For now I request we don’t make this a PANIC ABOUT WARP POWERED DEMI GODS thread and wait for someone with something helpful to say, something that might make an actual difference.
Avorus
You have had something helpful to say whether intentional or not, it might even make a difference to those less well educated than your self, your words may have saved some up and coming adventurers that arent aware of certain traits of the malgar and the warp stone they are clad in.Maybe you have even given others ideas on a course of action to be taken if ever encountering the dos malgar. This kind of response is possibly what torishmiaka was hoping to get, be glad your words may have saved some lives at least.
ASH
I don't know much, in fact I was hoping that people would answer and enlighten me, but i'll share what I do know.
Warp corrupts, the weakest taint can damage you in ways that cannot be healed except by the most powerful mystical healing. If you're lucky it will only drain you of everything and leave you lying helpless on the floor, if unlucky it will change you, forcing you against your own, as it did with the Dos Malgar. It goes without saying to avoid warp at all costs, unless you somehow have a way of being resistant to it. Similar beings have used the warp to power shields around themselves that prevent them from being hurt and which can explode upon death to kill those who destroyed it.
Psychic powers may be preventable with psyresist potions, but seeing as how a few mortals have broken through those before and considering how powerful the Dos Malgar are it would be safer to assume that they can break through such.
If they have similar powers to similar creatures I have met before they may also wield powerful Runes, so any runic defenses may be useful (though if you have reflections it goes without saying that you should be wary).
If someone can get me a way of stopping them and a way of preventing them from controlling my mind then I will be the first in the charge to free our people, until then I will continue to do my best defending those I can against other threats, which while not as all powerful, are no less lethal.
Ollan
Just after I left Dusk Island and joined the Alliance a Dos Malgar attacked a training area for adventurers. This was far behind the lines so only the weakest members of the adventuring community were there to face it.
Its mystic fields prevented any transportation magics from reaching the area preventing anyone coming to their aid. The yougsters there fought alone against possibly the most powerful creature in this Dream.
When we managed to force our way to them everyone that was there lay dead or crippled on the floor. The armour was destroied and the creature released I believe it chose to leave the Dream.
Those valient souls stood together and bested the worst the enemy could throw at them.

Unless you're an Innerflame, then nothing. But we have a duty to protect our allies and our own, so we must fight nontheless. If a stranger's life must be taken in order to protect the life of a friend, would you take it? Are the lives of 3 worth more than the life of 1? My answer is yes, but it is a decision not to be taken lightly or in haste.

I could give a hundred reasons, we fight the good fight, we defend those in need, we have hope, we fight for our Gods, we only want what is best for this land, we want peace...
Each member of the alliance will give a different reason, depending on who they are and which threat they are facing at the time.
My knee-jerk reaction was "I want to protect those weaker than me" but thinking about it there is more to it than just that. I have hope in the dream and will defend the innocent against those who have serve its enemies.
You ask a big question, but have not yet produced your answer. I am sure that you yourself have reasons why you have done what you have done in battle, please, enlighten us Torishmiaka:
What makes you different from those you fight?
Ollan Karlath
Huskarl of House Draven
Squire to Sir Carl, prelate to the Knights Amoriath
Karlath, you point out that Torishmika has failed to produce an answer, yet so have you. You merely point out the various reason a being may find to justify their conflict. But the question still lies unanswered. Ollan Karlath, what makes you DIFFERENT to those you fight?
Torishmiaka - I fight for people not against people if everyone that considered me an enemy turned round and said "you're all right we'll stop trying to hurt you" I would be happy. I made a different choice, help friends insted of hurt my foes.
Nameless - you might want to check how annonymous posts are recieved and check Karlath's third paragraph he spells out his thoughts quite clearly.
Sebastion, Sorceror of Ador
Ah, Torishmika's monthly thought provoking question.
The difference between us an Orcs is that most of us don't view rape and pillage as a hobby, where as my hobby is counting bright heals.
Recently I fought along side a group of adventurers against a Stigian. Now if i'm right what makes us different is that Stigians want to enslave the entire dream, where i'm not even sure I want to rule my small dukedom in hell. I certainly won't collect taxes.
And so on, I'm sure there are enemies out there who are more akin to us, perhaps then we can use diplomacy. But right now we're dealing with princes of hell, undead kings and slavers from another world.
Phobos
To Karlath and Sebastion, my apologies. In my haste I forgot to include my name. I have no wish to conceal my identity.
However, unless you are referencing a diferent 3rd paragraph to the one I am seeing, then I still find no answer to Torishmika's question. Just as I fail to find one in your response. Again, you've simply pointed out your reason, noble and good as it may be, for WHY you fight.
Phobos, on the other hand, has hit the mark square on! (However I'm sure that there are a few of the adventuring community who would consider rape and pillage as legitimate forms of income, and slaving as a lovely business on the side).
I hate to seem anal and condescending in my responses, but it has become apparent to me that more and more adventurers seem to care for nothing but the weight of coin in their purse, and couldn't care less for the lives of innocents who are harmed along the way.
Druer
Perhaps I should be slightly more specific. I previously said that I have hope in the dream and will defend the innocent against those who serve its enemies. Maybe if i say it differently my answer will be more apparent.
I am different from the people I fight because they are enemies of the dream while I have hope in the dream and wish to protect it and the innocents that are part of it.
I hope that satisfies you.
Ollan Karlath
I am different to those I fight, for I am Free.
Shadowdeath
What makes us different, not sure on that one.
What makes me different, honestly, nothing...
We are all capable of great evil and great good, I know what I am and I have accepted it, all I can say is that I will make sure my son has a future and a free one at that.
Malkavian
I believe what makes us different from our enemies is that while they seek the power to destroy various aspects of the realm and the people that reside in it, we fight to protect the survival of the weak and above all the very existance of the dream.
Harken Swiftblade, Swordsman of Athena and Retainer to the noble house Royce
For those of you who have asked for my answer, I give it to you now.
I believe that what makes us as a whole different from those enemies we fight, is that we defend those that are weaker than ourselves not because we are told to but because we feel it is part of our duty. We have the ability to ask questions and are given free will by our superiors to question there acts and to question things we do not understand. We fight because we are willing to defend the people we love and those that are our friends, we are not forced to ever defend anything we don’t believe in. We also fight for the dream that we all live in and the continuation of it.
Druer you seem to hit the nail on the head, I have felt recently that adventurers as a whole seem to care less about what they are supposed to protect and more the money in there pockets. This is one of the reasons why I have put my monthly thought provoking question, and I am pleased that some people have felt the need to respond, this gives me hope.
It is nice to see answers from different races and people from all walks of life.
Torishmiaka
FREE WILL that is what makes ME different, I can choose my own actions ,whether they offend ,destroy or aid I still have the ability to choose what I want to do. This will always be the way I will live my life until I have achieved what I set out to do. One more difference between myself and those who I choose to fight is that at the end of the day I WILL BE THE ONE LEFT STANDING.
ASH.
Druer, I am glad to help but I am under no illusions about how much it costs to put a group of warriors into the field and insure they survive.
Safe, sucesful, operations cost money.
Sebastion, Sorceror of The Order of Radience
Not an awful lot makes us different from those that we fight.
We may claim to protect the innocent or free the enslaved from oppression. Perhaps we can say that we serve the rightful King of Evermore or be so bold as to declare our belief in The Dream
However, most people in Evermore can say that so all you can do is take the money you're paid and hope you chose the right side.
Sean
When I was but a soldier in the service of my Lord I fought because I believed the Order and Law he represented was worth defending.
When I came to the surface and joined the adventuring community I fought in order to succeed in missions that were of value to the land, the people and Nature. I also became driven to defend and assist Gymier and Nature from all profaners.
With the help of Sir Beregost High Druid and my friend Roach I learnt the shallowness of my dark path and grew into light.
And here is where the difference lies;,we the free people, the King and the Amoriath would offer our enemies something they would never consider to give us.
We offer them the choice of surrender, mercy, judgment and redemption.

Bwahuh but there is only one so how can he restore a different one.
I knew the bards were awesome but this is taking things to whole new plane.
Sebastion
was there a reason for doing this, flexing bard muscle maybe? or just tinkering with natural orders and stuff? also how is this a selfless act or am i missing something!?
ergo
the unicorn was that of Evernaal, the one that was killed when evernaal was taken over. he restored that one to life, but due to there only being able to have one unicorn in each realm, the two unicorns merged into one, with there combined strength. from what i remeber the unicorn will the battle and we shall be fighting on two sides, as the unicorn has greater strength, if i understood it correctly. Under my understanding a wishsong costs the bard something to sing it. and therefore this is why it was a selfless act, and also i beleive he did of his violition.
Torishmiaka
As Torishmiaka has mentioned, the Unicorn was from the alternate reality Evernaal that Kassandra came from recently. I believe a dream elf (Shoulshard I believe but I haven't met him so I may have gotten the name wrong) also joined us recently bringing their last vestige of hope, the Horn of the dead Unicorn from their reality. The Unicorn's horn allowed us to travel from reality to reality to reform the keystone between realities. I believe it was mentioned in some previous newsletters and I reported the story to High Table some time ago.
To know that this noble embodiment of hope has returned is a huge boost to all of us.
I would like to thank Sir Cal for what he has managed to do
Ollan Karlath
Huskarl of House Draven
Squire to Sir Carl of the Amoriath
Thank you for educating me on this matter ,sorry for being so ignorant about the importance of the unicorn and how it can aid us against those who would do us harm, yet again the bards have proved what a great boon they are to us all and why they are held in such high esteem. Maybe we can all learn from his selfless act and hope to one day do something similar which will aid us all.
Thank you sir kal.
ergo.
I understand this question is directed at Torishmiaka, and I trust she will reply to it. However, your asking on a public board, not projecting a question into her head, so I guess your ok with others throwing in their two gc.
We are fighting, we are using actions as well as words, and Torishmiaka has been part of that. When we made our first attempt to free the Daka-Shae, she was there. She was in the room when a Stigian walked in, and did more than anyone else there to try and protect the device we were using from it.
Of course we talk, for words are important - understanding why we do what we do is important. However we're also taking the actions required, you might have noticed the dead Stigian we made recently, a small first step, but an important one.
Recognise the deeds of mortals for once, when in the past few years we have been so instrumental in defending the dream from Undead Dragons, the Fianrada, and countless others. Do you deny that mortals have played their part in the return of Hingloriel? The resurrection of the Unicorn of Evernaal?
Avorus
Deathsearcher words play as crucial a part in the fight as actions do. I ask how the pact was generated, if my guess is correct, then I gather that words were exchanged, between the two parties involved. We are doing all we can to fight the battles that are presented to us on all sides. Knowing why each of us fights, leads to a better understanding between us ALL, and allows us to be more united against a common foe. In these times with several major threats to all that we know, it is best that we ALL stand together.
I respect you and your race as much as I respect all the other Ar sprits, for you were born first.
So I ask you, what do you think I can do to aid the fight for this dream? You have walked this dream longer than I can imagine and know so much more than I can ever dream of knowing, so maybe you can give me an answer to this.
And since we are asking questions, I would like to ask what are you doing to aid in the freedom of your brothers that are incarcerated in Amatyr and Anisfarl? As I am sure you are attempting to find ways to free them.
Torishmiaka
if you call into any church of the inner flame i am sure one of my brothers will be able to provide you with some donated clothes for you to cover your modesty, after a voluntary contribution on your part and joining us in a rousing sing song of "we shall over come" we will take your confession which i am sure you need to give and happily let you on your way glowing in the knowledge that your spirit has been clensed.
BROTHER PHILLIP
thankyou for your help my friend, I need to start putting labels in my clothes, as far as a confession, I havent been naughty enough to need one, although.... I would be willing to tell a few stories to the less shy female inner flames if you like.
Dmitri Valentine
Why don't you write her a letter and ask her a bit about herself? Or find her in tavern or High Table? Asking people to give their opinions of someone in quite such a public manner is rather impolite don't you think?
Shankar
i dont know where she lives or hangs out and even what she looks like. if i had this information then maybe i could do as you suggest. thanks anyway, i was not trying to be impolite but i can see how it may seem that way, my apologies.is she human, elven ,dwarven. is she a warrior, wizard or witch, good or evil? powerful or weak. i will contact her if i am supplied with a means to do so ,other than this method. again i thank you for your attention in this matter.
